I painted this for a woman whose heart was captured by a hummingbird with a yellow belly, sitting on a branch. After some research, I could not find any such species in my part of the world--until I read something about the tendency of hummingbirds to get pollen on their breasts in the spring. Aha.
I am a fantasy author who loves to paint. Writing and painting work together nicely; one inspires me to do the other. I am endlessly fascinated by nature, myth, legend and imagination.
