I love zinnias. They are cheery, strong, bright and reliable. I start them in my greenhouse every spring and they pop right up, and can take all kinds of fickle things that a New England spring can throw at them. In this painting, a monarch butterfly visits a patch of zinnias in bright red.
I am a fantasy author who loves to paint. Writing and painting work together nicely; one inspires me to do the other. I am endlessly fascinated by nature, myth, legend and imagination.
