Scaevola is one of my favorite annuals. It likes to hang over and out of things in a fabulous spray of little purple fan-like blooms. There is something about the shade and shape of the leaves that attracts me, and which I sought to capture in this painting.
I am a fantasy author who loves to paint. Writing and painting work together nicely; one inspires me to do the other. I am endlessly fascinated by nature, myth, legend and imagination. I have shown paintings in galleries and shows around New England and published art in various fantasy magazines.
