The dormouse is found mostly in Europe. A romantic creature, it has a long furry tail, beautiful markings and can hibernate for a remarkably long time. This dormouse, perched in a ivy-covered tree in autumn, was inspired by a short story I wrote called "Pattern Sense," in which the nocturnal activities of said mouse cause a woman to discover magical powers in the stitches of her latest knitting project.
I am a fantasy author who loves to paint. Writing and painting work together nicely; one inspires me to do the other. I am endlessly fascinated by nature, myth, legend and imagination. I have shown paintings in galleries and shows around New England and published art in various fantasy magazines. I am the author of the fantasy series The Chronicles of Ealiron and The Fylking, and a short story collection entitled Wizards, Woods and Gods.
